Airport Car Parking
|
The main selling point of the vast majority of airport car-parks is that they are secure. This means that they are gated and fenced in, and may have twenty-four hour monitoring either by security guards or CCTV. Although there is always a slightly higher cost for this additional security, it is certainly worth the peace of mind travellers can enjoy whilst they are away on holidays or business. Secure parking generally means you can rely on your car being in the same place you left it when you return. It also means in theory that your car should be protected from vandalism and being broken into, though most car-parks advise that you avoid leaving valuable belongings on display whilst you have your car parked in their facility. The other benefit of paying for secure parking is that your car should be covered by the business's insurance - if your car is damaged or somehow stolen whilst on their property, they are liable for the repairs or replacement.
Safety is another key issue with car-parks, and whilst it is always important to be aware of your surroundings and your personal safety (particularly late at night), you can generally rely upon secure airport car-parks being well lit, adequately manned by security, and constantly monitored by security cameras. If you are going to be using the car-park late at night you may even be able to organize for a security member to escort you to or from the terminal for additional peace of mind.
